Coraline Jones is a young girl who is always on the lookout for adventure. She and her family move to a new home and with the lack of new friends, Coraline goes on the hunt for excitement. When she finds a secret door in her new home, she doesn't know what she's getting herself into.

The door takes Coraline into a new universe, to start she doesn't quite grasp that it isn't the real world, everything is very similar but just slightly different, her mum has buttons for eyes and her dad seems way to fun to be real. When Coraline does a little digging she finds out her new life isn't as great as it's been made out to be, her new mother that at first seemed to be very friendly locks Coraline away until she learns to be a good daughter, the young girl must use her ingenuity, strength of mind and courage to break free from this new world.
