Tracy Morgan is determined to walk his fiancée down the aisle unassisted.

The former '30 Rock' star, who has been using a cane and a wheelchair since he seriously injured when a Walmart truck collided with his limo bus in New Jersey last June, is still receiving rehabilitation therapy in a bid to help him regain full mobility before he marries Megan Wollover, 28, in August.

The 46-year-old actor said: ''I don't want to walk my wife down the aisle with a cane or in a wheelchair. So I had to go hard with the therapy.

''I had to get better. There was no ifs, ands or buts about it.''

The comedian admits learning to sit down, stand up and walk again has been the most physically challenging aspect of his recovery, but now feels much stronger.

He told PEOPLE magazine: ''I am working out now, but physical therapy isn't easy. It's a lot of ooch-ing and lot of ouching and screaming, but I am determined.''

The couple, who have 23-month-old daughter Maven, originally wanted to get married as soon as Tracy was released from hospital, but they decided to wait for him to get better.

He added: ''Happiness is simply having something to look forward to. I look forward to being married, and I'm really happy.''
