With Morgan's condition improving, the star has moved to the rebah stage
Tracy Morgan has been transferred to a rehab centre following his treatment at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital after the chain reaction crash that took the life of James McNair and injured three others.
The comedian suffered serious damage to his leg, and while reports that he would have it amputated were erroneous, reports suggest he suffered a bad break among other injuries.
Tracy Morgan was seriously injured in the Jersey turnpike crash, but has now left hospital to begin rehab
"Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab centre, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks," his publicist Lewis Kay said in a statement. While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go."
Morgan's assistant, Jeffrey Millea has also been upgraded to fair condition, according to Morgan's spokesman. Hospital officials said Monday that comedian Ardie Fuqua, of Jersey City, remains in critical condition.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board's report, Wal-Mart driver Kevin Roper was going 65 mph in a 45 mph zone just before the June 7 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, concluding that he was around 13.5 hours into his shift. This has lead to concerns regarding new legislation that would allow truck drivers to work 80 hours per-week.
“The NTSB's preliminary findings in this case clearly show that truck drivers are pushing beyond the limits of the current hours of service rules," Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa said. Sen. Robert Menendez pointed out that that’s like working two full-time jobs. “But the difference is you’ve got a multi-thousand pound vehicle in your hands which can be used inadvertently as a weapon,” he told WCBS 880′s Levon Putney.
