The 45-year-old actor is fighting for his life in intensive care at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick after the limo bus he was travelling in, along with six other people, overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike following a collision with six other vehicles.
Sargent Gregory Williams of the New Jersey State Police told CNN: ''The limo bus is the only vehicle that overturned. Looks like one of the tractor-trailers may have rear-ended that limo bus, but that's preliminary at this time.''
Mr Williams doesn't believe alcohol played a role in the accident, which also involves two tractor-trailers, a sports utility vehicle and two cars.
One person was killed in the tragic crash, while seven others have been hospitalised.
Peter Haigney, a spokesman for the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, said four patients are being treated there - three of which are in a critical condition.
Tracy, known for his role on 'Saturday Night Live', was scheduled to perform at a casino in Dover, Delaware, on Friday night (06.06.14) and was believed to be travelling back home to Bergen County, New Jersey, when the nasty collision occurred.
