A truck driver involved in a car crash which left comedian Tracy Morgan fighting for his life has been charged with causing death by auto and four counts of assault.
Kevin Roper, who was behind the wheel of the tractor trailer which reportedly collided with the back of Morgan's vehicle during a horrific six-vehicle pile-up, has been charged.
The 30 Rock star was travelling back to his New Jersey home in the early hours of Saturday (07Jun14) after a stand-up performance in Delaware when his limo bus was rear-ended and overturned.
Morgan remains in a critical condition in a New Jersey hospital, but his comedy writer friend James MCNair was killed in the accident. Two other motorists are also in intensive care, including Morgan's assistant Jeff Millea, while a third is reportedly in a 'fair' condition.
Roper's bail has been set at $50,000 (£31,250).
New Jersey State Police say two tractor trailers, two cars and one Suv (sports utility vehicle) were involved in the fatal accident, but the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
