Country star Trace Adkins wife has spoken out about the blaze that destroyed the family's Tennessee estate on Saturday night (04Jun11), revealing her daughters were home with a nanny when the fire broke out.
Initial reports suggested that only Rhonda Adkins, the couple's three children and a nanny were unharmed in the fire - but now it has emerged the kids were all in the house when it started.
Rhonda tells CNN the blaze began in garage and quickly spread.
She says, "They ran to their safe place like we practised, in the front yard at a big tree."
And the grateful mum admits lives were saved thanks to a recent fire safety drill at her daughters' school.
Chrome singer Trace was en route to a show in Alaska when the fire broke out. Upon landing he boarded another plane home.
The Adkins family and their nanny plan to move onto their nearby farm, while renovating their home in Brentwood.
