The Lust, Caution star was made an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters during a special ceremony in France on Monday (08Jun15), when he was lauded by Consul General Arnaud Barthelemy for his acting achievements.

Leung, who was joined by his wife Carina Lau and director pal Wong Kar-Wai, dedicated the accolade to his collaborators over the years for helping to turn him into a film star.

He stated, "I think this honour should be shared with all those who have worked with me in films for the last 30 years."

The 52 year old has long tasted success with Wong Kar-wai, who became a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2013. The pair has worked together on films including Ashes of Time, Chungking Express, The Grandmaster and In the Mood for Love, which landed Leung the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000.
