British Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife CHERIE has turned to an unlikely source for fashion tips about her husband's wardrobe - punk mastermind VIVIENNE Westwood.

At the recent Britain's WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT reception at BUCKINGHAM PALACE with Queen Elizabeth II the outrageous fashion designer told lawyer Cherie she thought her husband's dress sense was "appalling".

Westwood, who dressed seminal punk band the Sex Pistols, says, "I took the opportunity to tell Cherie Blair exactly what I thought of Tony.

"He hasn't got a clue what culture is and his dress sense is appalling."

Westwood - who first shot to fame with her designs in the seventies with partner MALCOLM McLAREN - is the subject of a retrospective at London's VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM next month (APR04).
