Tony Bennett is planning a spectacular party to celebrate his 80th birthday next year (06) - to say sorry to his family for the "inhuman" tour schedule that has kept them apart.
The singer - who celebrates his 79th birthday today (3AUG05) - has remained active, recording and performing live and maintaining other interests like painting, right up to old age.
But he accepts his workaholic nature has had a negative effect on those close to him.
Bennett - who will celebrate tonight with longterm partner SUSAN CROW - says, "We're going big on the 80th.
"It was such a sacrifice for my family and me when, for many years, to keep the career going, I kept up a schedule that was quite inhuman.
"The biggest wish I would have for my birthday is that my whole beautiful family, children and grandchildren and nieces and nephews, could all get together and feel good about each other."04/08/2005 10:52
