Rising British musician Tom Odell bought a new car with the cash advance he was given when he signed his record deal, but the vehicle went missing three weeks later.
The BRIT Award winner purchased a green Mini Cooper with money he was given when he signed to pop star Lily Allen's label, but the car disappeared shortly afterwards, and Odell was so upset, he wrote a song about it.
He says, "Lily's label gave me an advance, which was the most money I'd had at that point. I went out and I bought an old Mini Cooper for cash. Then three weeks later, I got back from a show in Scotland and the car was gone.
"So if you see a racing green classic Mini Cooper, it's mine. There's a song on my album (Long Way Down) about that."
