RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS star Flea, Pete Yorn, JURASSIC 5 and TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan will team up with various other politically-motivated California performers to play at a benefit concert in Hollywood on Saturday.
Former RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE star Morello admits the concert comes at a vital time.
He explains, "Aggression overseas, the growing gulf between rich and poor on our homeland, those are things we deal with on a daily basis.
"The model (for the show) is based on the TELL US THE TRUTH tour I did last fall with Billy Bragg and Steve Earle, where it's musicians with varied musical backgrounds but with similar ideological backgrounds, getting together to raise money for a good cause."
Saturday's show will be the fourth Axis of Justice benefit. Proceeds from Saturday's event will go to food banks and homeless shelters in downtown Los Angeles.
Morello adds, "Homelessness and hunger is one of the real crimes that exists in America. In a country that has the most billionaires of any country in the world, to have people living and eating in the streets is really a travesty."15/07/2004 02:17
