Tom Hardy is in talks to star in 'Snow White and the Huntsman'.
The 'Inception' actor is in negotiations to play the titular huntsman in the project, which is a revisionist take on the classic fairytale which sees the evil Queen hire a tracker to find her stepdaughter, who has run away.
However, the pair eventually become friends, and the huntsman helps Snow White to escape from the all-knowing queen.
Angelina Jolie is being courted for the role of the evil baddie in the film, although her rumoured commitment to Tim Burton's fairy-tale project 'Maleficent' may scupper any final signing, The Playlist reports.
Evan Daugherty has written The Script for the movie, which is one of three retellings of the traditional 'Snow White' tale currently in the works.
'Snow and the Seven' sees the story re-told as a martial arts movie, while 'Brothers Grimm: Snow White' sees a dark spin on the project.
The film currently has no release date, but will be shot in early 2011.
