Billy Bob Thornton Making Bad Santa Sequel

Billy Bob Thornton Jayne Mansfield Tom Epperson

Billy Bob Thornton is considering making a sequel to 'Bad Santa'.

The actor-and-director has never made a sequel before, but admitted he would be open to reprising his character from the film - which tells the story of a Santa impersonator who plans to steal from the mall he is hired to work at.

He said: "Bad Santa's become like a classic Christmas movie. People watch 'It's a Wonderful Life' and 'Miracle on 34th St.' and 'Bad Santa' now is sort of the box set.

A Family Thing Review

OK
This review is not going to win me many new friends. Already, the gushing praise has begun, and it appears A Family Thing is going to be a regular Critic's Darling. I have little doubt that momentum will give the film the best reviews of the year to date, and I have an equal suspicion that few people are going to see it.

Best described as Driving Miss Daisy 2, A Family Thing is a way-way-melodramatic picture about an aging, backwards, racist, Arkansas hick, Earl Pilcher (Robert Duvall). Earl's mother, on her death bed, writes him a letter, telling Earl that in reality, she was not his mother at all, that his real mother was a black woman, and that she died having him in childbirth. Mom #2 implores him to seek out his half-brother in Chicago, for reasons never really explained.

Don't Look Back Review

Good
Yet another Eric Stoltz drug junkie thriller, only this time it's split between L.A. and Galveston, Texas. Body count = ~11. Oddly, this film has no known producer.

The Gift (2000) Review

Weak
Maybe Paramount held back on giving The Gift a wide release during the Christmas season to avoid too many reviewers saying, "This Gift is a holiday lump of coal..." or something like that. If so, good call.

The latest from Sam Raimi (For Love of the Game) is a muddled thriller, filled with tired clichés and some of the worst casting in years. Raimi, along with screenwriters Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Epperson, try so hard to create a "serious" psychic chiller that the film is practically drained of any excitement.
