Tom Cruise was wracked with nerves shooting his first scene for new movie Rock Of Ages because he had to sing a Def Leppard track in front of the band.
The Hollywood actor takes on the lead role of rock star Stacee Jaxx in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the popular stage musical, which features a number of classic hits including Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar on Me.
Cruise has now revealed his rendition of the British band's song was the first scene he shot for the film, and he had to do it with the stars of Def Leppard watching on set.
He tells Playboy Magazine, "I was down in Miami, recording different songs, and Adam (director Adam Shankman) called and said, 'Def Leppard's coming by the set.' I said, 'Man, that's cool'. Then I paused. 'Wait, I'm rehearsing their song tomorrow.' And he's like, 'Yeah!'... So we started right in the deep end, and that was the first scene I shot in the movie. It's a great song, and I grew up listening to them... All the crew was watching them watching me...
"The lead singer, Joe Elliott, points at me and goes, 'F**k you! F**k you!' Then I saw big smiles on their faces, and I realised I'd gotten their stamp. It was a very cool moment. It was important they knew I was honouring their music and not making fun of them."
