The Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce just got a little more interesting, with celebrities seemingly choosing their sides. "Evil" is a word often used by people to describe News International head honcho and general media monopoly man Rupert Murdoch. However, the Australian business tycoon has been brandishing the word about himself too, after coming out in a scathing attack on scientology on Twitter in the wake of the Hollywood couple's high profile split.
As has been well documented over the weekend, Holmes and Cruise are to divorce after around six years of marriage, and reports are now coming out that the reason behind it came down to the fact that Cruise wanted to send their six year old daughter Suri away to an intensive Scientology training camp called Sea Org. Murdoch isn't short of an opinion on anything (unless it's Lord Leveson asking him for one at any rate) and so popped up on his Twitter to comment "Scientology back in news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hierarchy (sic)."
He had more to add too, writing, some might say hypocritically "Watch Katie Holmes and Scientology story develop. Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people." Indeed, "these people" soon made themselves known to him too, forcing him to respond "Since Scientology tweet hundreds of attacks. Expect they will increase and get worse and maybe threatening. Still stick to my story." Who knew Rupe could cause such a controversy eh?
