Tom Cruise has no time for method actors because he's convinced it's "destructive to the work".

The TOP GUN star feels actors like Robert De Niro and Daniel Day-Lewis hamper a movie's flow and he insists he'll never go to great lengths to "become" a character.

He says, "The whole point (to acting) is, you're creating it. You've got to understand it... but when you do something, it has to have spontaneity when you are shooting. You have to let it flow."
