Former DIFF'RENT STROKES star Todd Bridges is speaking out about his past substance abuse problems to help students training to become counsellors.
The ex-child star began using drugs during his stint on the hit sitcom and became addicted to cocaine and crystal meth after the show came to an end in 1986.
Bridges has since been clean for more than 17 years and is now sharing his experiences with pupils enrolled in a drug and alcohol counsellor training program at ICDC College in Van Nuys, California.
His representative tells TMZ.com, "He is excited to work with ICDC and is looking forward to helping out as much as he can wherever he may be."
