TLC Criticises Rihanna's "Booby Cakes" Costume - 'We Kept Our Clothes On'

Rihanna TLC Tionne Watkins Rozonda Thomas

Rihanna has responded to TLC's comments about her brazen and bare breasted appearance at Monday (2nd June) night's CFDA awards.

RihannaRihanna's dress has certainly prompted discussion.

The 26-year-old appeared wearing a lilac coloured, embellished dress which left very little to the imagination. The dress was see-through ensuring everyone (including the awaiting paparazzi) got a good look at Rihanna's backside and breasts. Her little modestly was protected by a tiny pair of knickers and a small fur stole.

TLC Keke Palmer Drew Sidora Lil' Mama

TLC were one of the biggest girl groups of their generation, not to mention one of the wildest and devil may care girl groups to take the pop world by storm. Their time together was often tumulus and eventually ended in tragedy with the passing of prominent band member Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes. A new VH1 docu-drama lifts the lid on their time together and what it was like to be the biggest group in the world.

Blast From The Past: TLC To Return With New Album And Tour

TLC

Nearly eleven years after the release of their last studio album, 3D, 90s RnB sensation TLC will be back later this year with a brand new album and a tour in support. The remaining members of the band - Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas – have signed a deal with Epic Records and will star in a VH1 biopic.

The girl group broke up in 2001, after the tragic death of the band’s third member – Lisa “Lefteye” Lopez. They have since gone on to produce a “greatest hits” album, but hadn’t actually reunited in the studio since 3D. During their hiatus, the remaining members of TLC hinted at a possible reality show in the future.

According to Billboard, the album was headed up by longtime producer Dallas Austin, and features new songs written by Lady Gaga and Ne-Yo and contributions from Drake and J. Cole. Clearly, TLC are aiming to modernize their sound for the comeback. In light of this, the choice to have rapper Lil’ Mama fill in for Lefteye during the band’s upcoming shows makes perfect sense. The first performance featuring the rapper will be at this weekend’s Mixtape Festival in Hersheypark, PA. The documentary is to follow on November 11. As for the album, no release date has been announced yet.

Jennifer Aniston Jason Sudeikis Ed Helms TLC Rawson Marshall Thurber Bob Fisher Steve Faber

Well, the same thing's gonna happen with the first trailer for We're The Millers - Aniston's new movie with Jason Sudeikis and Ed Helms.

Sudeikis plays David, a guy earning a living by dealing a little pot here and there. However, when his marijuana his stolen, he is left having to pay a drugs boss (played by a rather miscast Helms) by embarking on a trip to Mexico to bring his latest shipment in. A young kid tells David that he'll probably get searched at the border by travelling alone, and so he devises a plan to form a fake family and enlists a local stripper (Aniston) to play his wife. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Again! (And This Time There's A Wedding)

Alana Thompson TLC

Alana Thompson aka Honey Boo Boo is returning to TLC in June for a very special episode of her hit reality show. Thompson's mother June 'Mama June' Shannon has reportedly married long-time partner Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson and the ceremony - set to be aired in the July episode - sounds anything but ordinary.

The bride, 33, wore a camouflage gown with sparkly tennis shows, while the 41-year-old matched a matching set of trousers and orange vest. Young Honey Boo Boo donned a ruffled bright pink and peach dress for her mother's big day. The couple held their nuptials outside their famous Georgia home on May 5, 2013 with the reality TV cameras on-hand to catch the action.

Alana's big sisters Pumpkin, Chickadee and Chubbs were also in attendance for the ceremony and BBQ. "The day was very special mostly because my girls were able to take part in it," June told People magazine afterwards, "I felt like it was important for them to see this moment and celebrate my love for Sugar Bear." The bride said the special day was a family effort that stayed true to the family's roots. "Never settle for a man who doesn't treat you right," June said if her new husband, "If a guy doesn't love everything about you, move on! There are plenty of other fish in the sea."

BBC Sound Of 2013. Introducing Haim, Your New Favourite Band

AlunaGeorge Haim Angel Haze Fleetwood Mac Destiny's Child TLC

The BBC’s Sound of 2013 winners have finally been announced. The US band Haim say that they have “found our second home in the UK!” and after extensive press coverage on these shores, since they started making waves at 2012’s SXSW festival in Austin Texas, they have become a hotly-tipped band. It’s no surprise then, that their accessible, ‘80s influenced guitar sound has earned them a place at the top of this year’s poll, beating AlunaGeorge and Angel Haze, who sit behind them in the race.

So who exactly are Haim, then? 21 year old Alana, 23 year old Danielle and 26 year-old Este are three sisters, making music that sounds as though it’s inspired as much by Fleetwood Mac as it is by their own self-confessed influences of TLC and Destiny’s Child. These are a girl group in a more traditional sense though; a guitar band with pop sensibilities; credibility lends weight to their songwriting and their extrovert personalities have certainly made recent interviews in the UK press an entertaining read.

One of the first magazines to champion Haim were NME. The publication’s new music editor Matt Wilkinson said “After years of boring indie bands who seem to almost be embarrassed to be featured on mainstream radio or in magazines like NME, Haim are a shining light. Not only do they write brilliant songs, but they also want to be a really big deal… the fact they are now getting wider recognition is no real surprise - they have a knack for writing amazingly catchy singles, they're a killer live band and they talk-the-talk miles better than most other new bands. It's a rare and exciting combination.”

Will TLC Bring Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopes Back As A Hologram?

TLC Stooshe

Will Lisa Left-Eye Lopes be returning to life as a hologram? According to her TLC bandmates, they are thinking seriously about utilising hologram technology to enable TLC fans to get a glimpse of the deceased Lopes when they perform live in the future.

“The hologram is something we talked about and thought about years ago, obviously timing is everything but we’re definitely talking about it,” Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas told the Metro newspaper.

Lisa Lopes was killed in a car crash in 2002, when she was aged just 30. Her death is still painful for Chilli and Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins to think about but the idea of having a holographic Left-Eye on stage with them is something they may well embrace, when they release their biopic next year. “It will be hard on us but I certainly think our fans would love to see it,’ said Chilli. ‘We would definitely be the first group to ever do it… I think we would probably pass out and all of our fans would break down but it’s amazing how real the hologram looks, it’s almost like you can touch the person. It’s great but spooky at the same time but we’re definitely thinking about it.”

Exciting News For TLC: New Music, Old Members.

TLC

After the immense success of Tupac returning to the stage as a hologram alongside the flesh version of Snoop Dogg at Coachella in April this year, the prospect of bringing back beloved past members of the music industry has sparked the imagination of many.

A hologram tour of Michael Jackson has already been tipped for the future, and now TLC have said that they are hoping to bring the late-Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez back to life using the hologram technology. Speaking to the Metro, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas said: "The hologram is something we talked about and thought about years ago, obviously timing is everything but we're definitely talking about it."

In the late '90s and early '00s TLC were one of the most successful RnB acts of the age, but with the premature death of one member of the band, they haven't released an original album in 10 years. As well as the reported hologram come-back of Left-Eye, the remaining members of the band Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins are planning a new album- including new material- plus a tour and a VH1 biopic, according to the BBC. "We've always grown throughout the years and have always had our own sound. That's what works for us and we don't have to worry about anybody else." T-Boz said, "We're going to still sound like TLC, evolving to whatever level we need to be at this time."
