Tinie Tempah says he has been inspired throughout his career by Jay Z and hopes he can have as successful a career as the rap superstar.
The 'Children of the Sun' hitmaker has been inspired by the 43-year-old rapper since he was a youngster through listening to his music.
Since Tinie has become a recording artist he has been inspired to try to emulate Jay Z's success and ability to build a business empire as well as write hit albums.
Tinie said: ''He has led by example through his art form.
''He's worked hard, been smart and made really good business decisions. So if you have aspirations as a young black guy to be an artist, a musician and an entrepreneur, and who knows, maybe one day work with tech companies and app companies and drinks brands and all of that, there is someone who has shown people like me that we can do that.
The 24-year-old rap star hopes he can go on to emulate Jay Z's achievements and inspire his fans.
He said: ''I want to try to be that guy for my generation.''
Tinie is convinced success is built on how well an artist can adapt themselves to keep up with the ever-changing music scene and changes in fashion and trends.
He explained: ''Three years ago I was sitting in south London not knowing what the hell was going to happen to me. But you have to adapt fast or you won't survive.''
