Country star Tim Mcgraw has landed his first ever movie role.

The SHE'S MY KIND OF RAIN singer will play a bullying father in FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, an adaptation of the HG BISSINGER book about a Texas town's devotion to its high school football team.

In the film, which stars Billy Bob Thornton as the head football coach, McGraw will play a former football hero and the strict father of a PERMIAN HIGH SCHOOL PANTHERS player.

McGraw's wife Faith Hill recently made her movie debut alongside NICOLE KIDMAN in the upcoming drama STEPFORD WIVES.
