Veteran rapper Tim Dog has been ordered to pay $19,000 (£11,875) to a woman he targeted in a fraud scheme.
The hip-hop star, real name Timothy Blair, pleaded guilty to a charge of grand larceny, admitting to tricking Ester Pilgrim into giving him the cash after meeting online in 2007.
He alleged the money would be used to resurrect his music career.
Blair struck a plea deal with Mississippi prosecutors which saw him avoid jail in return for a more lenient sentence.
In addition to the restitution fee, the 44 year old was placed on five years' probation.
The New York native found fame in the early 1990s with the controversial track F**k Compton, in response to the rise of the West Coast rap scene, with artists like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg.
