Rapper Tim Dog has died following a seizure, according to U.S. reports.

The veteran hip-hop star, real name Timothy Blair, had been a longtime diabetes sufferer. He passed away on Thursday (14Feb13), aged 46.

The New Yorker shot to fame in 1991 with the release of his controversial track F**k Compton, in response to the rise of the West Coast rap scene.

The single was followed by the release of his debut album, Penicillin on Wax. He went on to release three more records, including his last album BX Warrior in 2006.
