Director Tim Burton's remake of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory has won the ultimate compliment from one of the stars of the original 1971 movie version, who thinks its late author Roald Dahl would have liked it.
Dahl, who died in 1990, was less than impressed by the original film adaptation, although Cole is sure he would have loved Burton's interpretation.
The 47-year-old says, "I think it's as good as the original and my son BARNEY says it's better.
"Roald Dahl didn't like our film but I'm convinced he would have loved this version. It picks up on all of the darker elements of his story, which kids love.
"I wouldn't say it is better than the original as that will always be special to me."12/07/2005 09:15
