Hollywood star Tilda Swinton feared she'd be placed on involuntary psychiatric hold after she refused to give birth by Caesarean section.
The We Need To Talk About Kevin actress was pregnant with twins 14 years ago and was urged to forgo a 'natural' birth when she ran three weeks overdue.
Swinton was so determined to allow her babies to arrive in their own time, she refused - and was convinced she'd be sectioned under Britain's Mental Health Act by doctors.
She tells the Los Angeles Times, "I was about to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act. There was an awful case two years before of a woman who resisted having a Caesarean and they sectioned her, chained her to a bed and forced her to have an epidural. I was a little nervous that was going to happen to me."
