Superhero movie Thor has put the brakes on Fast Five's reign at the top of the U.K. box office after thundering to the top of this week's (beg02May11) chart.
The film, starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman, took $4.9 million (£3.1 million) in its opening weekend, pushing the latest instalment in the Fast & the Furious franchise into second place, with $4.2 million (£2.6 million) in takings.
Elsewhere in the rundown, horror movie Insidious entered at number three, with sales of $2.2 million (£1.4 million).
Animated film Rio and Russell Brand's Arthur round out the top five.
