The X Factor star Alexandra Burke is set to follow in the footsteps of previous show winner Leona Lewis - she's landed a $4.26 million (£3 million) deal to launch her career in America.
The Hallelujah singer won Simon Cowell's British TV talent show in December (08), and record label executives were said to be keen to make her as successful as the Bleeding Love hitmaker has been since her win in 2006.
And Burke is delighted with the money being invested in her, telling British newspaper The Sun, Id love to crack the U.S. After seeing Coldplay take away the awards at the Grammys I was so inspired.
Her Stateside launch is being masterminded by the team behind Rihanna and Beyonce Knowles, Epic Records - who have signed her up for five albums.
An insider adds, Epic think Alexandra can follow in Leonas footsteps. The U.S. market loves women with big voices - and Alex certainly has that. If she comes close to Leonas success it will be a job well done.
