Nathan Sykes Ariana Grande The Wanted

The Wanted might be done for the time being, but one of the members are coming back in a big way. Singer/songwriter and former member of the UK boyband, Nathan Sykes, just dropped his debut solo track titled, ‘More Than You’ll Ever Know.’

‘More Than You’ll Ever Know’ is available through Sykes’ Facebook page, and the song itself is definitely not what you’d expect given his previous track record. Soulful and jazzy, Sykes’ vocals clearly haven’t lost its edge over the past year or so since The Wanted’s end. In fact, it might just be the best thing we’ve heard from the 21-year-old yet.

Why Going Solo Is The Best Thing For One Direction’s Harry Styles

One Direction Harry Styles The Wanted

All good things must come to an end someday, which means that One Direction is eventually breaking up. Sorry, I know, it’s a sore subject for me, too. They’ve consistently put out great pop albums year after year, so it’s not like they should break up, but being in a boy band with a bunch of other guys sharing your spotlight puts a damper on your own personal success, too. Why stick around and split the profits when you can be a bigger star all on your own?! For some pop acts like Emblem3, it doesn’t make a difference who leaves, because nobody is really going to care about whatever solo thing they do. But groups like The Wanted? Nathan Sykes is bound to get big with anything he does now that The Wanted is done.

Harry Styles Esprit ArenaHarry Styles is bound to be One Direction's biggest success

With One Direction, all five of those guys are going to do big things too, but nobody will reach a star status as big as Harry Styles will, because let’s face it: Harry Styles is the lead of One Direction. Every pop group has one, whether people want to believe it or not. Nathan was the lead of The Wanted, James Bourne was the lead of Busted, and Normani Hamilton is totally the lead of Fifth Harmony. It’s not insulting the other members, but the leads just have something that their bandmates don’t. For Styles, he’s clearly the most popular, and arguably even has the best pipes.

The Wanted's Max George Vows That "This Is Not The End" For The Group

The Wanted

The Wanted decided to call it quits temporarily after almost four years of success across the globe, deciding to go on a lengthy hiatus following an exhausting period on the road. Taking place in Los Angeles, the ceremony was also notable for other guests including Paris Hilton, Julianne Hough, Naomi Watts and Lea Michele. The entirely fan-voted for awards saw Taylor Swift take home the Favorite Country Artist gong, though she once again found herself in a 'Kanye' situation as Olivia Munn initially refused to give her the statuette. It was all for play though, with Swift laughing "Oh God... this always happens!"

It was a night where Girls Aloud were supposed to mark their comeback in style with a glittering opening performance at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball at the O2 Arena in London; yet since the girls have been away on individual endeavors the landscape of British pop music has changed somewhat and the five-piece were surprised to find themselves eclipsed by, among others, The Wanted - fresh from a jaunt supporting Justin Bieber in the USA - Calvin Harris and Example, among others.
