'The Walking Dead' Fans Sign Petition Calling For Scott Gimple To Be Fired

The Walking Dead

The season 8 midseason finale of 'The Walking Dead' earlier this month saw a huge twist in the story, deviating wildly from the comic books on which the show is based once more in a move that nobody saw coming.

It was an episode that saw a number of big moments, but one in particular - and, if you've not yet seen the episode, turn back now - saw Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) reveal a zombie bite to his abdomen, signalling that he would be leaving the series in the near future.

Was Latest Zombie Victim On 'The Walking Dead' Fired?

The Walking Dead

'The Walking Dead' went through one of its biggest changes to-date during the midseason finale of season 8, with one leading character clearly written out of the future of the show because of a zombie bite to their abdomen. It was a move that nobody saw coming and a clear deviation from the path of the comic book series, in which the character still exists to this day.

The character we're talking about is Carl Grimes, played in the series since the very start by young actor Chandler Riggs who, in June of this year celebrated his 18th birthday. Carl has never been a fan-favourite character who appeals to the masses in the show, but viewers were beginning to think he may one day take over as leader of the survivors in the series, placing their bets on Andrew Lincoln's character and Carl's father Rick dying, rather than his son.

'The Walking Dead' Changes Forever With Zombie Bite In Season 8's Midseason Finale

The Walking Dead

'The Walking Dead' will be going through one of the biggest shifts in the shows history, it's been revealed, as a major character was revealed to have been bitten by a zombie, which will surely bring their time on the show to a screeching halt in the very near future.

'The Walking Dead' Actor On How He Wants His Character To Die

The Walking Dead

When Josh McDermitt first made an appearance in 'The Walking Dead' as the rambling and socially awkward Eugene Porter, many fans felt sorry for the character. Now though, having left Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group of survivors and now working under Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) alongside The Saviors, it's hardy to find sympathy for the man who has consistently sold his friends down the river.

In the future, it's clear that Eugene will eventually succumb to the zombie apocalypse taking over the land. Whether he's killed off by a zombie or a fellow survivor of the traumatic event remains to be seen, but it doesn't seem likely that there's end-game for the character.

'The Walking Dead' Crossover Character To Be Revealed On Sunday

The Walking Dead

Earlier this year, 'The Walking Dead' creator Robert Kirkman announced that a character from either the original television series or its sister show, 'Fear The Walking Dead' would be crossing over to the other series in an undisclosed capacity. Though the rumours had in the past come thick and fast surrounding a crossover, the idea was always shut down by show bosses, so it came as somewhat of a surprise when Kirkman revealed that a crossover would indeed be going ahead.

Exactly which character and from which show will be making the jump remains to be seen, but the reveal is something that's now right around the corner. In fact, AMC announced that the unveiling would be taking place on this week's edition of 'Talking Dead' on their Twitter account, in a message you can see below:

'The Walking Dead' Season 8's Midseason Finale Gets Extended Runtime

The Walking Dead

Fans of 'The Walking Dead' have been treated to three action-packed episodes of the series since the show's eighth season debuted in October, and it looks as if that's something that will continue into the foreseeable future, as showrunners have had to nearly double the running time of this season's upcoming midseason finale.

Norman Reedus stars as Daryl Dixon in the long-running AMC seriesNorman Reedus stars as Daryl Dixon in the long-running AMC series

Usually, episodes will last around 42 minutes, but instead of that usual hour (including adverts), the midseason finale will be 88 minutes in the United States, including adverts. We imagine the reasoning behind the added time will be revealed in due course, but in the past midseason finales have included many twists, turns, deaths and a lot of destruction. With 'All Out War' taking place between Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) band of survivors and Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) loyal group of Saviors, that's something we imagine will crop up once more.

Gregory Returns To The Hilltop In 'The Walking Dead' Season 8 Preview Clip

The Walking Dead

When it comes to 'The Walking Dead', the fan base can certainly agree on one thing - Gregory (Xander Berkeley) is a weasel. Having left Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) for dead in the season 8 premiere of the AMC zombie apocalyptic series, stealing his car in the process and driving away from the chaotic scene, many wondered just where he'd end up. Now, fans can see that he's made his return to the Hilltop with his tail between his legs, begging for sanctuary from Maggie and the rest of the survivors that are housed there. You can check out the clip below:

From the preview, it's clear that Gregory expects Father Gabriel to be dead, as he instantly lies about his whereabouts, claiming he doesn't know what happened to the survivor. Whilst that could be the case, we last saw Gabriel locked up in a trailer with none other than the villainous Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who pretty much told him he could expect a rough ride from here on out.

Tom Payne On Jesus Giving Mercy In 'The Walking Dead'

Tom Payne The Walking Dead

In 'The Walking Dead' this week, fans were shocked to see Jesus take the chance to allow a member of the Saviors to live, after he and Tara caught him in a back room with a gun, but he surrendered and had his hands in the air instead of fighting back. Though Tara still wanted to leave him dead, Jesus said that he wouldn't allow a defenceless man to be shot in cold blood, only for him to then disarm Jesus and put a gun to his head, leaving Tara in quite the predicament.

Fortunately, Jesus' skills when it comes to fighting meant that he was able to lure the Savior into a false sense of security, disarming him back but once again, not allowing Tara to kill him. Taking him as a prisoner of war, he and Tara exchanged some heated words, but in the end it was Jesus' way that was followed.

'The Walking Dead' Producer Addresses Speculation Surrounding Planned Crossover

The Walking Dead

Earlier this year, it was revealed that 'The Walking Dead' and sister series 'Fear The Walking Dead' would finally be crossing over at some point in the near future. Taking place in the same universe, but at separate points in time, it may be a little tricky for showrunners to work out exactly how they'll do the crossover.

Creator Robert Kirkman confirmed the news at New York Comic Con, though he wouldn't reveal just which character would be making the move from one show to the other. A popular theory suggested that it would be Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) who made the jump to 'Fear', as the show takes place before his death and will be moving in location to Houston.

Telltale Games' 'Walking Dead' Characters Won't Appear In Television Series

Without a doubt one of Telltale Games' most prominent and inspired projects, the video game version of 'The Walking Dead' was first brought to players in 2012. Introducing a barrage of new faces that haven't been a part of the comic book series or the television show, exciting and fresh stories have been told through the Telltale releases, that have dropped in a sequence of 'seasons'.

'The Walking Dead' And 'Fear The Walking Dead' Crossover Confirmed

The Walking Dead

'The Walking Dead' is for many one of the best shows on television. When it was announced a sister show would be coming in the form of 'Fear The Walking Dead', expectation was high and, for the majority of those watching, the new series impressed just as much as the original.

'The Walking Dead' Producer Excited To See Jon Bernthal In Marvel's 'The Punisher'

The Walking Dead

When 'The Walking Dead' first made its way to the small screen, Jon Bernthal was one of the integral pieces of making the show a success, playing Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) best friend Shane Walsh. Unfortunately, his character wasn't long for the zombie-infested world, but Bernthal has since continued to make a name for himself in a number of big projects.

The Walking Dead Steven Yeun

It's been almost a week since the death of Glenn in the first episode of 'The Walking Dead' season seven and people have been expressing their (often genuine) grief in various ways. One person even took out an obituary in Arkansas newspaper The Batesville Daily Guard. Now that's true fandom.

A columnist named Andrea Bruner described how she was 'too depressed' to write her usual column following Glenn's bloody death in last Sunday's (October 23rd 2016) episode of 'The Walking Dead'. Meet The Characters For The Walking Dead's Upcoming Spin-Off

The Walking Dead

The upcoming spin-off for The Walking Dead keeps getting more alive by the day. After AMC announced a pilot order back in September, character descriptions for the cast have now surfaced. Are they as intriguing as the ones we know and love on The Walking Dead? Let’s take a look.

The Walking Dead PicPrepare yourselves: a Walking Dead spin-off is happening

According to TVLine, the series will apparently follow two families and an additional survivor: Sean Cabrera and his son Cody, Nancy Tompkins and her two children Nick and Ashley, and a lone wolf by the name of Andrea (don't worry: it's a different Andrea). Sean is described as a Latino male in his 40’s “trying to do right by everyone in his life,” while his teenage son, Cody, is full of rebellion. The Tompkins, on the other hand, seem like they’ll add a bit of dysfunction. Nancy looks like “the girl next door” with an edge, and her children are opposites from each other in the sense that the son Nick doesn’t want to flee, but the daughter Ashley wants to “get out of dodge.” As far as Andrea goes, she has “retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage.”

The Walking Dead Season 5 Is So Disturbing, Lauren Cohen Thinks Stuff Might Get Cut

Andrew Lincoln Norman Reedus The Walking Dead

After four seasons of some pretty intense zombie action, The Walking Dead enters its fifth this October. And according to some of the stars of the show, The Walking Dead Season 5 opens with some NSFTV stuff.

'The Walking Dead' Planned Till Season 12, But Can It Last That Long?

The Walking Dead

There’s nothing better than your favorite show being in its fourth season and hearing from its creators that they already have plans for season number twelve. It’s exactly what fans of 'The Walking Dead' got when showrunner Scott Gimple and producer David Alpert revealed the info. Gimple started it all when he said the show could go on for ten seasons a few months back, but Alpert recently backed him up stating that, whether 'The Walking Dead' makes it to season 12 or not, they already know where they’re going to take the hit zombie series.

The Walking DeadThe Walking Dead could last till season 12?

"I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what season 10 is gonna be," Aplert said at an appearance at the Produced By conference this week. "We know where Season 11 and 12...we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we're lucky enough to get there." The ones involved with the show aren’t the only ones who feel this way. Robert Kirkman, the creator of 'The Walking Dead' comic, has said that he knows where he’ll be taking the comic for issue number 200, and he even knows how it’s going to end. Started in October 2003, the book is currently at issue 128.

The Walking Dead Andrew Lincoln

The Walking Dead season 4 ended in high-octane fashion: Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Carl found Terminus but were soon wise to eerie feeling that surrounded it. A gun fight followed, and the subsequent dance that ensued saw the gang reunited, albeit locked up in a metal box.

Rick Grimes Walking Dead

In the photo, it looks as though Rick might be opening said metal box with a view to following through with his end-of-season words: “They’re screwing with the wrong people.” It was a solid end to a weird season, but one can’t help but thinking the whole ‘Rick’s back’ storyline has been done before, when he recovered from the loss of his wife.

'Walking Dead Season 5' Poster Revealed: Survive. Just Survive

Andrew Lincoln The Walking Dead Norman Reedus

For those of you that watched the season 4 finale of The Walking Dead on Sunday night (Sunday, March 30) will know that Rick will do almost anything to survive, and that includes biting a man’s neck off. And survival is a motif continued by the first poster for season 5, which features Rick crouching solemnly, holding a gun; the word “survive” emblazoned above him. You can view it right here on AMC's Walking Dead Facebook page.

The Walking Dead Season 4"Where did you get the watch!?" bellows Rick as he tries to get to the bottom of what's happening at Terminus

It brings us back full circle to the pilot episode and the first season in general, when ideas on the zombie apocalypse were first forming and the walkers seemed like a genuine threat, even attacking alone or in pairs. Nowadays, a single walker doesn’t represent much of a problem for our survivors, but Rick’s goals were simple: find his family, keep them alive. Survival was key.

Does Anyone Else Think 'The Walking Dead' Is A Bit Rubbish Now?

Andrew Lincoln Danai Gurira Scott Wilson The Walking Dead

AMC’s ratings behemoth The Walking Dead returned to American TV screens on Sunday night (Feb 9th) and last night on FOX for British viewers. We re-join zombie dystopia after the devastating battle that left the prison decimated, our beloved survivors scattered, and a few key characters dead or missing.

Carl The Walking DeadLet's just kill Carl off and be done with it

The mid-season premiere focused on Rick Grimes and his son Carl as they scavenge for supplies in a dilapidated town, which, surprisingly – considering it’s walking distance from the prison - is full of nourishing goodies like a 112-ounce can of chocolate pudding. This is as good a time as any for me to list the reasons why The Walking Dead isn’t very good any more:

How The Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln Beat 100 Rivals To Play Rick Grimes
