The best outfits take the most elbow grease. Well, some kind of grease.
Sometimes looking good is less than easy, and that doesn't ring truer than for Australian pop duo The Veronicas who had a little trouble getting into their skin-tight, plastic stage costumes as they hit London on their 'Sanctified' tour recently.
Latex wasn't the easiest costume choice for The Veronicas
When the twosome tried to prepare for their London show backstage, they realised that neither of them were able to get into their latex crop top and pant ensembles without a little help. 'We just had to send our tour manager to go out and get us lubricant', said one of the twins. 'We both forgot to lube our outfits and we wear these full on latex costumes and we can't get into them without lube.' Plastic isn't new to the sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso either - they frequently wear it for shows, so you'd think one of them would remember the crucial ingredient.
Latex is a thing that various stars have been seen to embrace recently; most memorably Kim Kardashian, who was spotted outside a London tattoo parlour in February 2015 wearing a daring pink dress that clung to every pore of her curvaceous physique. Lady Gaga also favoured the unforgiving material during her 'Artpop' launch, and Miley Cyrus' infamous MTV VMA 2013 performance presented a set of nude latex underwear.
Needless to say, we don't reckon this is a fad that many will try and copy. Greasing oneself up in order to dress doesn't sound like fun. However, if there's one set of people that really work the look it's The Veronicas. The duo are currently flaunting their figure and their 2014 self-titled album on tour.
