BEN AFFLECK (Jack Ryan) recently turned in a critically acclaimed performance as Gavin Banek in Paramounts Changing Lanes. He has also completed production on Martin Brests Gigli starring opposite Jennifer Lopez, and is currently shooting the big-screen adaptation of Marvel Comics Daredevil.
Affleck recently partnered with Matt Damon, Chris Moore and Sean Bailey to form LivePlanet, Inc. Their first endeavor, Project Greenlight, aired on HBO and drew critical raves for its behind-the-scenes look at the challenges faced by a first-time filmmaker, chosen from an internet screenwriting contest to make his feature film debut. Affleck and Bailey also co-wrote the interactive drama/reality hybrid pilot Push, Nevada, which was recently greenlit by ABC. Five additional scripts of Push, Nevada have been ordered; the show will be produced by Touchstone Television and LivePlanet.
Affleck came to prominence in Kevin Smiths comedy Chasing Amy. He captured an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 1998 for his script, Good Will Hunting, which he co-wrote with Damon. He segued into big-budget action with Armageddon, and was among the ensemble cast of the Academy Award-winning Shakespeare in Love.
Affleck went on to star in the romantic comedy Forces of Nature the fantastical comedy Dogma, the Wall Street drama Boiler Room, the suspense thriller Reindeer Games, the romantic drama Bounce and the epic Pearl Harbor. His other film credits include Going All the Way, Mall Rats, Cruz, Dazed and Confused and School Ties.
