The Strokes' long-awaited hometown gig in New York on Monday (13Sep10) was a star-studded affair - Jennifer Lopez and Russell Simmons were among the crowd.
The Last Nite rockers played their first set in four years in their native Big Apple as part of an invitation-only show to celebrate fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger's 25th anniversary in the business.
And the invites were handed out to some prestigious guests - Lopez, Simmons, Kelly Osbourne, Neil Patrick Harris and Ed Westwick were among the guests enjoying the performance.
Frontman Julian Casablancas was thrilled at playing New York's revered Metropolitan Opera House, telling the audience, "What is up? It's been my dream since I was a little boy to play the Metropolitan Opera. You only live once!".
