A galaxy of rockers including The Strokes, Blondie and Sonic Youth have paid tribute to legendary punk band THE Ramones at a benefit concert in New York.

Friday (08OCT04) night's BE WELL, RAMONES BEAT ON CANCER fundraiser saw the stars honour JOEY and Johnny Ramone, both of whom died from the killer disease.

All monies raised are being donated to the CEDARS-SINAI CANCER RESEARCH CENTER and LYMPHOMA RESEARCH FOUNDATION.

Other musicians featured in the show included QUEEN OF THE STONE AGE's Josh Homme and Joan Jett, while celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, Vincent GALLO and Sean Lennon turned up to lend their support.
