The show took place in London's 300-capacity Mode nightclub and was exclusively streamed online by Beats by Dr. Dre. Blur were performing their first studio album in 12 years from start to finish, having recorded the record in secret alongside producer Stephen Street. It was an album that everyone had been waiting for, and Coxon admits he was certainly aware of the pressure.

'We were in Hong Kong, we didn't even know we were going to record', Graham explained in a video interview with Beats. 'We'd had pressure from people, fans etc., to do it so we just thought, 'We can do it without telling anyone, it'll take the pressure off''. He confesses that he really didn't have a clue exactly what was going to come out of the recording studio, but he was confident that the band knew one other well enough to work something out. 'We'd been playing with each other quite a lot since 2009, we were quite used to each other again and it just seemed like almost an obvious thing to do.'

When it came to performing the album at their secret show, Graham recalls that the atmosphere was so intense, he expected to 'levitate'. 'I just felt this sort of power run through everyone', he remembers.
