Reformed punk icons The Stooges were a very different peaceloving act when they first started out - because frontman Iggy Pop was a hippie at heart.
Years before Pop became a punk godfather and marked concerts by cutting himself and fronting one of the most important US punk outfits, he was a bead-loving hippie, who lived in a commune with his bandmates.
He explains, "I had little love beads and a Hindu moustache. I was playing little rock operas about a guy who lived with a little mouse in a bucolic world.
"These guys (Stooges bandmates) were trying to back me up. Nobody would want to listen to that."
