British rockers The Stone Roses have expressed their sadness after a fan was found dead in their native Manchester, England after attending a recent concert.
Christopher Brahney was reported missing following the band's homecoming show on 29 June (12), the first of three reunion gigs, and the stars issued a public appeal for information about his disappearance in a bid to locate him.
However, police officers called off their search on Monday (09Jul12) after finding the 22 year old's body in the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford.
The Stone Roses have since reached out to Brahney's relatives via Twitter.com, writing, "We'd like to extend our sincerest condolences to Christopher's family and friends. Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly sad time."
Former Oasis star Liam Gallagher has also commented on the sad news, simply tweeting, "My thoughts are with Christopher Brahney's family and friends."
An autopsy to determine the reveller's cause of death is scheduled for Tuesday (10Jul12).
