Fact: The Simpsons star Bart Simpson is set to be killed off in the longrunning cartoon's forthcoming Halloween special. Executive producer Al Jean reveals Sideshow Bob will finally achieve what he's been trying to do since an episode in 1990, when the troublesome skateboarder exposed the Springfield villain's plot to frame Krusty the Clown for robbery, reports Entertainment Weekly. However, Bart's death on the annual Treehouse of Horror episode won't impact the future of the show - he'll be brought back to life for subsequent adventures with his family.

The writer/actress will voice the role of Candace in the upcoming season 27 premiere, during which cartoon dad Homer strikes up a romance with a 20-something woman during a trial separation from his wife Marge.
