Bosses of hit cartoon The Simpsons are hoping to land their most unexpected
cameo to date - from Britain's Archbishop of Canterbury, ROWAN WILLIAMS.
Producers of the animated comedy have invited 54-year-old Williams to take
part in an episode after he praised the show for its humour and humility.
Executive producer AL JEAN says, "We'd love to have him on the show...
It's a great thrill that the archbishop is such a fan.
"In the beginning, some religious groups in the United States disliked the
show, so to have such a prominent religious leader defend it is great."
A spokesman for the archbishop says they have not yet received an
invitation but that it would certainly be considered.
He adds, "It would be a very intriguing prospect."
Celebrities who have appeared on the show include Elizabeth Taylor, MICK
JAGGER and British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
