The Script were subjected to a royal appraisal on Friday (07Jun13) when they performed in front of Queen Elizabeth II at the Bbc's new London headquarters.

The Breakeven hitmakers appeared on Radio 1's Live Lounge show on the same day the monarch officially opened the rebuilt Broadcasting House.

The Queen's tour of the new facilities took her to the studio where the band was set up and she was given a seat for a personal concert from the trio.

The group immediately took to Twitter.com to post a snap of the momentous occasion alongside the message, "Just played for her Majesty The Queen of England. What an experience what an honer. (sic) (surreal moment much?)."

The monarch made her trip to the facilities solo as her husband, Prince Philip, was admitted to hospital on Thursday (06Jun13) to undergo an exploratory operation.
