Former The Replacements drummer STEVE FOLEY has died from an accidental prescription drug overdose. He was 49.
Foley joined the pop-rock band in 1990 after founding members Tommy Stinson and Paul Westerberg reportedly met him in a Minneapolis, Minnesota bar and hired him on the spot.
The drummer performed with the band until its final show in July, 1991. After his brief encounter with stardom, Foley returned to being a car salesman in Minneapolis.
