Former The Pogues star Shane MacGowan has been caught up in a row over a gig in Scotland - with the star insisting he was never booked to play the concert.
Hundreds of fans arrived at Fitzpatrick's Irish bar in Aberdeen, Scotland on Saturday (07Mar09) to see MACGowan perform after the gig was advertised on posters and local radio.
A notice at the venue informed concert-goers that the gig had been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances", with staff at the pub claiming the star had missed his plane.
But MACGowan's representatives have hit back at the reports - insisting he was never booked to play there and was actually performing in Florida that night.
MACGowan's booking agent, Nigel Morton, says, "At no time have we had any communication with any venue in Aberdeen for Shane to perform there. His first gig on his U.S. tour was on Saturday."
The bar has since been closed.
