Fact: Former Led Zeppelin star Robert Plant is planning to hit the road with The Pixies. The Heaven Knows singer has invited Frank Black and his bandmates to support him when he plays upcoming North American shows in Chicago, Illinois, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Toronto, Canada, Rochester Hills, Michigan and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Pixies rocker Black Francis would be wary of tussling with the notorious music producer, who is serving 19 years-to-life in prison for shooting actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.

We didn't hug or shake hands or anything. Joey (Santiago) and I just stood up and said, 'Ok'. Then we had to get out of there, so we immediately went to a bar. I had to move from coffee to alcohol." Pixies frontman Black Francis on how he and guitarist Joey Santiago dealt with Kim Deal's decision to leave the band earlier this year (13).

Fact: The Pixies opened their latest reunion tour in Hollywood on Wednesday (04Nov09) with a showing of LUIS BUNUEL's 1929 surrealist movie short Un Chien Andalou - the inspiration behind their fan favourite Debaser - which opens the band's cult 1999 album Doolittle. The group is performing the album in its entirety on a sold-out tour of America.
