The Penelopes' new single, Sally in the Galaxy, will be released on April 16th through Pour Le Monde. The band will be playing four live shows in London, which will be spread out throughout March; April and May.
The video for Sally in the Galaxy was directed by Saman Keshavarz. A young girl is bullied by her family and, as revenge, calls upon a few of her childhood heroes to sort her horrible siblings and parents out. Her heroes are about as diverse as you can get, ranging from Michael Jackson; Wonder Woman; Harry Potter and even Britney Spears, circa 1999.
The Penelopes are a duo: Axel Basquiat and Vincent T. They didn't meet; rather, they grew up in the same apartment block in Paris, France. They formed The Penelopes in 2005 and released their debut album, The Arrogance of Simplicity, was released in 2006. The following year, they won the Best Discovery at the French Qwartz Electronic Music Awards.
Their forthcoming second album will be their first release in the UK.
