The big screen adaptation of Argentine revolutionary ERNESTO 'CHE' GUEVARA's diary of his life-changing journey from his home in Buenos Aires to Ecuador, was named Best Picture, Best Director for Salles, Best Supporting Actor for RODRIGO DE LA SERNA and the Norman Lear Writer's Award for Jose Rivera, who adapted Guevara's diaries into the screenplay.
Other winners at the star-studded ceremony in the Beverly Hills Hilton included OSCAR-nominee Catalina Sandino Moreno for Best Actress for MARIA FULL OF GRACE, while teen Shelbie Bruce was named Best Supporting Actress for Spanglish.
In the TV categories, presidential drama The West Wing garnered the Best Primetime Series and Best Actor gongs for the show's star Jimmy Smits, while SIX FEET UNDER star Freddy Rodriguez triumphed in the Best Supporting Actor category.
