The Leisure Society Annouce Spring 2012 Tour Dates

The Leisure Society, who recently played with Laura Marling on her UK cathedral tour, have announced they are now set to be supported by Loney, Dear at their London Barbican on Thursday 8th December.

Original support act and label mate Micah P. Hinson has had to cancel due to illness, with the slot now being taken by Loney, Dear, aka Swedish singer-songwriter Emil Svanängen.

Tickets for this spectacular show are priced at £15 or £20

The show will also feature backing from the 30-piece The Heritage Orchestra. Formed in 2004 by producer Christopher Wheeler and conductor composer Jules Buckley and based in the De La Warr pavilion in Bexhill, they are one of the best-known young orchestras in the UK, celebrated for their collaborations with contemporary mainstream and experimental artists. They have recently worked with John Cale and also performed Vangelis's 'Blade Runner' soundtrack at the Massive Attack-curated Meltdown.

In more seasonal news, The Leisure Society have penned a brand new song 'Christmas Mistakes' for reputable music site For Folk's Sakes Christmas compilation this year. The album's entitled 'For Folk's Sake It's Christmas 2011' and all profits go to the Integrated Cancer Centre.

The Leisure Society released their critically acclaimed second album, 'Into The Murky Water', in May of this year and over the past few months have played a sold-out show at London's Union Chapel, performed an intimate and unusual acoustic gig at the SEA LIFE London Aquarium and been personally chosen by Ray Davies to appear at his recent Meltdown festival at the Southbank Centre.

'We Were Wasted', a track from their debut album, also appears as the closing track in 'Tyrannosaur', a film written and directed by Paddy Considine and starring Peter Mullan.

Having appeared at several festivals over the summer including End of the Road, the band are set to head out on a UK headline tour in the new year. The current list of dates is as follows:
