The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has explained why he shaved off his famous moustache - it didn't complement the band's fresh new pop sound.
The singer decided to get rid of his beloved facial hair in time for the release of their latest album, Day + Age - as he felt it didn't suit the mood of the Las Vegas group's new record.
He tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "I decided that the person who sang these songs didn't wear a moustache."
The band recorded their LP with the help of Madonna's music guru Stuart Price - and they are delighted with the input of the super producer.
Drummer Ronnie Vannucci says, "It was really, really fun for me on this record. I was able to do so much more than I was ever able to get away with before, with ideas."
Flowers adds, "There's something cosmic and galactic about what he does I think."
