Former JAM star RICK BUCKLER is re-living his mod hey day - he has formed a Jam tribute band called The Gift, named after the rockers' final album.

The 49-year-old drummer hopes to thrill fans with his revival of classic hits including BEAT SURRENDER, GOING UNDERGROUND and THE ETON RIFLES.

A spokesperson for Buckler, 49, says, "The title of the band is both a nod towards the last Jam album and Rick's gift in return to all Jam fans.

"The Gift are both proud and excited about going out and playing The Jam's back catalogue."

Former JAM frontman Paul Weller is currently promoting his latest solo album AS IS NOW, while third former Jam bassist BRUCE FOXTON now plays with Irish punks Stiff Little Fingers.
