Fact: The last Los Angeles home of The Doors frontman Jim Morrison has gone on the market. He lived on the top floor of an apartment building in West Hollywood with girlfriend Pam Courson between 1970 and 1971, and now the whole building is being listed for sale this month (May16) for $3.5 million (£2.4 million). Morrison reportedly gave his last ever interview there in 1971, the year he died, aged 27.

Fact: The Doors star Robby Krieger will return to the band's old haunt, the Whisky A-Go-Go, on Thursday (16Jan14) to launch the fabled Los Angeles venue's 50th anniversary celebrations. Weekend concerts honouring the milestone will feature Martha Davis & The Motels, Rosanna Arquette, Mallory Lewis & Lamb Chop and Three Dog Night's Chuck Negron.

Actor Val Kilmer adds his tribute to The Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek following his death on Monday (20May13) after a secret battle with cancer. Kilmer portrayed Jim Morrison opposite Kyle MACLachlan as Manzarek in Oliver Stone's 1991 film The Doors.

Fact: The Mayor of West Hollywood declared Thursday (16Aug12) The Doors Day after the iconic rock band The Doors. The honour was announced ahead of the annual three-day Sunset Strip Music Festival in Los Angeles, which will double as a tribute to the legendary group.

Fact: Former Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy, rapper RZA and James Ingram have been added to the bill at this summer's (12) Sunset Strip Music Festival in Los Angeles. This year's three-day event will double as a tribute to The Doors. Marilyn Manson will headline the festival on 18 August (12).

Fact: The Doors star ROBBIE KRIEGER had a special treat in store for Stone Temple Pilots fans at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas on Thursday night (18Mar10) when he joined the band onstage for an encore rendition of Roadhouse Blues.
