Cult Scottish rockers The Delgados have split after a decade and five critically-acclaimed albums.
In a statement on their website at the weekend (09APR05), the group claims the recent departure of bass player STEWART HENDERSON left them unable to continue and the remaining members of the group will pursue solo careers.
In a statement, the group says, "The Delgados have always been known as uniquely collaborative songwriters and, as such, it was decided that the band could not continue without all of its original members."
The statement followed one posted by Henderson the day before, in which he wrote, "Physically, emotionally and financially I found it increasingly difficult to pour so much of my energy and time into something that never quite seemed to get the attention or respect I felt it deserved."11/04/2005 21:39
