It is expected that this will be the band's most financially lucrative tour, adding to their accolade of being the highest grossing band of the last 10 years.
The Grammy award-winning band formed in 1991 in Charlottesville, Virginia, with singer and songwriter Dave Matthews at the helm. In addition to their seven studio albums, the band has released 18 live recordings.
Last year was the 20th anniversary of the band, and to celebrate, they planned four day-long music events that featured artist such as the Flaming Lips, Ray LaMontagne, Gogol Bordello, The Roots and David Gray. The events were titled the Dave Matthews Band Caravan. Dave Matthews Band have recently been recording with Steve Lillywhite, with whom they collaborated on their first three albums. A report from Celebrity Cafe suggests that the band will be playing new material on the forthcoming tour, as well as the fans' old favourites.
