The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins has hit out at a British radio after she mocked his solo debut - a cover version of Sparks's 1974 hit THIS TOWN AIN'T BIG ENOUGH FOR THE BOTH OF US.

BBC Radio 1 presenter Jo Whiley accused the spandex sporting singer, who has launched his solo career under the name British Whale, of "cheating" with the new release, adding that he sounded like a "chipmunk".

He says, "It doesn't matter that she doesn't like the track, but to accuse some of cheating...this is a low budget, organic sounding home recording."
